If you sat through the American Family Renaissance Summit, something moved in you.
I know that because I have watched it happen in rooms for years. A man hears the truth said plainly, and for a few hours the fog lifts. He sees his marriage clearly. He sees what he has been avoiding. He sees the father he intended to be and the father he has actually been, and the gap between them stops being theoretical.
And then it is Thursday.
The kids need something. Work runs long. The thing he swore he would deal with gets pushed one more week, then one more, and by the end of the month he could not tell you a single specific thing that changed. He still has the notes. He has not read them.
I am not saying that to shame anyone. I am saying it because it is the most predictable pattern in men’s ministry, and almost nobody addresses it honestly. We gather men, we stir them up, we send them home, and we act surprised when the stirring evaporates.
Conviction is not formation. Conviction is the starting gun. What you do in the twelve weeks after determines whether your life actually changes.
THE PROBLEM WITH CONVICTION
Here is what I have come to understand about men and change.
Men do not usually lack awareness. Most of the men I coach can tell me exactly what is wrong. He knows he is distant from his wife. He knows he has been outsourcing his kids’ spiritual formation to a youth pastor. He knows he is drinking more than he should, or scrolling more than he admits, or working late for reasons that have nothing to do with the work. He is not confused. He is stuck.
The gap between knowing and changing is not filled by more information. It is filled by three things, and a man will almost never generate them alone:
Structure. A sequence that does not depend on how he feels on a given morning.
Accountability. Other men who will notice when he disappears and come looking.
Exposure. A room where he actually says the true thing out loud, because until it leaves his mouth it is not real, it is just private commentary.
That is what a twelve-week cohort provides and a summit cannot. A summit opens the door. This is the work on the other side of it.
WHAT THIS ACTUALLY IS
The Standard of a Restored Man — The 9 Marks of a Restored Man is a twelve-week guided cohort. Sixteen men. Personally led by me.
It is built on the nine marks that consistently distinguish a restored man from a man who is merely coping, the character foundations that hold when income drops, when the diagnosis comes, when the marriage gets hard, and when nobody is applauding and there is no external reason to keep standing.
Each mark gets worked, not covered. You will study it, examine yourself against it honestly, take specific action on it in your actual life that week, and then report to fifteen other men who will know if you didn’t. That last part is the part that makes it work, and it is the part most men flinch at.
This is not a video library you buy and intend to watch. It is not a book study where everyone nods, and nobody moves. It is not a group where you can sit quietly in the back for twelve weeks and leave the same man you were.
It is formation. Scripture-grounded, discipline-driven, and personal.
WHY SIXTEEN
I get asked this, and the reason is simple: past a certain number, a room stops being a brotherhood and becomes an audience.
At sixteen, I know your name. I know what you are working on. I know when you were quiet last week, and I will ask you about it. You cannot disappear into the crowd because there is no crowd to disappear into. Every man is visible, and visibility is precisely the medicine most of us have spent our lives avoiding.
I could open this to two hundred men and make considerably more money doing it. I would also be running a webinar, and webinars do not restore anybody.
So, it is sixteen. When those seats are claimed, that cohort is closed.
WHAT THIS WILL COST YOU
I would rather tell you the truth up front than have you discover it in week three.
It will cost you time. Real hours, weekly, on your calendar, protected. If you are not willing to defend that block against work and everything else that will come for it, do not register, you will resent it by week four and quit by week six.
It will cost you comfort. You will be asked questions you have successfully avoided for years. About your marriage. About your father. About what you actually do when nobody is watching. About the thing you have never told another man.
It will cost you your pride. This is the real price, and it is why most men never do this work. You will have to sit in a room and say out loud that you do not have it handled. That you are not fine. That you need help.
Which, if you attended the summit, you already know is the entire point.
That keynote was not a motivational device. The Power of Asking for Help is the hinge every restored man I have ever met turned on. Not one of them rebuilt himself by gritting harder. Every single one of them, at some point, stopped performing long enough to raise his hand.
This cohort is where you raise it.
WHO SHOULD NOT REGISTER
I mean this plainly, because a wrong fit hurts the other fifteen men.
Do not register if you are looking for information. You can get information for free, and you already have more of it than you are applying.
Do not register if you want to observe. There is no observing. You will be called on.
Do not register if you intend to manage this with one foot in. Twelve weeks half-committed produces nothing and will convince you that this kind of work does not do anything, which is a lie you do not need to be carrying.
Do not register if you are certain you are fine. Guard that. Come back when it stops being true.
WHO THIS IS FOR
It is for the man who has been successful on paper, hollow underneath, and tired of the performance.
It is for the man whose marriage is functional but not alive and who does not want to spend another decade being a good roommate.
It is for the father who realized recently that his children are learning what a man is by watching him and who is not entirely comfortable with what they are seeing.
It is for the man who has been drifting spiritually for years, would never say so publicly, and is finished with the gap between what he claims to believe and how he actually lives.
And it is for the man who was moved by the summit and has enough self-awareness to know that being moved has never once been enough.
If any of those sentences landed, you already know. You felt it while reading, and your first instinct was to find a reason it isn’t the right season. It never will be. That is not a scheduling problem, that is the resistance to doing exactly what it always does.
WHAT YOU WALK OUT WITH
Not a certificate. Nobody needs another certificate.
You walk out with nine marks you have actually worked rather than admired. You walk out with a structure for your spiritual life that survives a hard week. You walk out with a clearer, harder-won understanding of who you are in Christ instead of who you are when you are producing.
And you walk out with fifteen men who know the true version of your story.
That last one is not a bonus feature. For most men it is the thing that changes everything, because it is the first time in his adult life he is not carrying it alone. You cannot buy that and you cannot manufacture it by yourself. It is forged by men doing hard, honest work in the same room over time, and once a man has it, he does not go back to isolation willingly.
THE ASK
Sixteen seats. Twelve weeks. Led personally by me.
If the summit stirred something in you, this is what you do with it, and you do it now, while the stirring is still louder than the excuse. A week from now the fog comes back, and it will feel reasonable to wait. It is not reasonable. It is just familiar.
Claim your seat: AmericanFamilyRenaissance.org
And if a name came to mind while you were reading, a man who needs this more than he would ever admit, send this to him. Do not soften it. Just send it and tell him you thought of him.
That is how this works. One man raises his hand, and it gives the man next to him permission to do the same.
Raise yours.
