250: A Mission Bigger Than a Milestone | True Man Podcast Episode #250

by Mike Van Pelt | Jul 30, 2026 | Podcast

When I sat down to record the very first episode of the True Man Podcast, I never set out to become famous.

I wasn’t chasing viral videos, download numbers, or sponsorship deals. I simply wanted to make a difference in the lives of the men I felt called to serve.

Today, that journey reaches an incredible milestone—Episode 250.

While I’m grateful for the number, this episode isn’t really about 250. It’s about what happens when you simply refuse to quit.

Most podcasts never make it very far. Many end after only a few episodes. The statistics say I probably shouldn’t still be here.

But faithfulness has a way of accomplishing things that statistics never can.

Galatians 6:9 reminds us:

“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up.”

Not if we become famous.

Not if everything goes according to plan.

Not if the algorithm finally notices us.

If we do not give up.

That’s really what 250 episodes represents.

It isn’t perfection.

It isn’t popularity.

It’s perseverance.

Week after week, I kept showing up. Sometimes inspired. Sometimes tired. Sometimes wondering if anyone was listening. But every time I pressed “record,” I reminded myself why I started.

Because somewhere out there is a man who needs hope.

A husband who needs encouragement.

A father who needs direction.

A man who simply needs someone to remind him that he isn’t fighting life’s battles alone.

Those are the men I’ve always wanted to serve.

What 250 Episodes Have Taught Me

Looking back, I realize this podcast changed me just as much as I hoped it would help others.

It forced me to study God’s Word more deeply.

It challenged me to become a better leader.

It taught me to ask better questions.

It reminded me that authenticity will always outlast performance.

Most importantly, it confirmed something I’ve believed for years: real transformation happens one conversation at a time.

I’ve been blessed to hear from men who told me an episode arrived at exactly the right season of their lives.

Others have joined coaching, attended events, or simply reached out to say, “I needed that.”

Those conversations have meant more than any download number ever could.

If you’ve listened to even one episode, shared one with a friend, or encouraged me along the way, thank you.

You have been part of this journey.

A Bigger Vision

As I’ve grown in my faith, something has become increasingly clear.

Helping one man is important.

Helping one family is transformational.

If we truly want to change our culture, we cannot stop with the individual. We must strengthen the family.

Strong families build strong communities.

Strong communities build a strong nation.

That realization has led to an important next step.

Moving forward, the American Family Renaissance will become the primary umbrella for the mission God has placed on my heart.

This isn’t replacing True Man Life Coaching.

It’s expanding it.

True Man Life Coaching remains the foundation.

It exists to help men discover their identity, strengthen their faith, accept responsibility, and become the husbands, fathers, and leaders God created them to be.

The American Family Renaissance takes that transformation one step further.

Its mission is to strengthen families, restore biblical values, and help rebuild the cultural foundations that have sustained our nation for generations.

The two were never competing ideas.

They were always pieces of the same mission.

Build the man.

Strengthen the family.

Restore the nation.

Everything we do flows from those three priorities.

God.

Family.

Country.

Not simply as words.

As a way of living.

What’s Next

This new season will include several exciting initiatives.

The American Family Renaissance Summit, centered around The Power of Asking for Help.

The launch of The Standard of a Restored Man: The Nine Marks of a Restored Man provides a clear biblical framework for restoration and masculine leadership.

Expanded speaking opportunities focused on helping men discover that asking for help is not a weakness—it is one of the greatest demonstrations of courage.

This isn’t about creating something new for the sake of change.

It’s about becoming more focused on the mission God has been revealing all along.

My Challenge to You

If you’ve been carrying something by yourself…

If you’ve convinced yourself no one would understand…

If you’ve believed you have to figure everything out alone…

Raise your hand.

Ask for help.

That’s not a weakness.

That’s where restoration begins.

Thank you for walking this journey with me through 250 episodes.

The best chapters are still ahead.
